Food waste
When it comes to sustainability challenges, food waste is a biggie.
We throw away more than 9.5 million tonnes of food every year, even though 8.4 million people live in food poverty: that’s a whole load of perfectly good food not getting eaten.
At HECK! we’re tackling food waste head on, by making sure that our products end up where they belong: in people’s bellies, not their bins. All our sausages, burgers and balls are freezable, meaning you can stick them in the freezer to keep them fresh until you need them - including those times when you’re only having half a pack.
We want to do more, though, so we’re busy exploring lots of other ways to make our products go further. And we’re supporting Too Good To Go, helping you rescue unsold food from shops and restaurants.
There’s plenty more you can do in the meantime, from learning more about why food waste matters to helping to make it a thing of the past.

If you’re one of those people that throws food away just because it’s past its “best before” date, then WRAP’s insight study is for you. If you’ve ever wondered what the difference really is between “sell by” and “use by” dates, or how labelling and food waste are connected, then it has all the answers.
