Taking Testicular Cancer Awareness on the Road with the Ball Bus-ter Tour

With testicular cancer now the most common cancer in men aged 15-34, we’re teaming up with Cahonas to change those stats with our Ball Bus-ter Tour!

One minute. That’s all it takes to potentially save a life, yet a new YouGov poll shows that most men aren’t spending even that long checking their testicles. While 68% of blokes scroll on their phones multiple times a day, only 36% regularly check for lumps or changes. Even more worrying, one in five men admit they never check at all.

After HECK! co-founder Jamie Keeble’s own diagnosis in 2015, raising awareness has become a mission close to our heart. This year, we’ve teamed up once again with testicular cancer charity Cahonas to launch our biggest awareness push yet: the CHECK! Campaign. Jamie said “Awareness is everything. Men can dramatically reduce their chances of dying from testicular cancer simply by knowing what to feel for. That’s why we’re hitting the road, to get the message out there loud and clear.”

And at the centre of it all? A bright pink minibus with a giant chicken on top.

Introducing: The Ball Bus-ter Tour

This November, the Ball Bus-ter will hit the road, bringing life-saving conversations directly to men across the UK. The eye-catching bus (bold, pink, impossible to ignore) will be rolling into Glasgow, London and Leeds, ready to spark honest conversations about self-checking and early detection.

Visitors will have the chance to meet members of the Cahonas team, get practical advice on how to check themselves properly, and learn why early detection is the best defence against testicular cancer. It’s all about making the topic less awkward, more accessible and something men actually talk about.

Alongside the tour, we’ve also temporarily rebranded our chicken sausages to CHECK! packs, each featuring the message “Don’t be a chicken - check” plus a QR code that links straight to Cahonas’ step-by-step guide to self-examination. A donation from every pack sold will go directly to the charity, helping fund even more awareness work.

If you spot the bright pink Ball Bus-ter rolling into your city this month, come and say hello, have a chat, pick up some info, and most importantly, take a minute for yourself. Because one minute really could save your life.
