Greek-Style Steak & Butter Burger

Prep time: 15 mins – Cook time: 20 mins – Serves: 2 

Transport yourself to Greece with this burger topped with grilled halloumi and tzatziki

 

Ingredients:

2 Steak and Butter burgers

2 burger buns

¼ pack of halloumi cheese, sliced

1 red onion, sliced into rings

1 beef tomato, sliced

For the tzatziki:

3 tbsp of natural yoghurt

½ cucumber, chopped into little pieces

5 sprigs of mint, leaves pulled off and finely sliced

 

Method:

  1. Heat a little oil in a frying pan and sear the burgers until they are browned on both sides. Place the burgers on a lined baking tray and put in the oven at 180°C for 10 mins.
  2. Slice the halloumi and fry on a griddle pan until nicely charred. Slice the onion rings and tomato and place on the burgers. Put the burgers back in the oven for 5-7 mins until the tomato and onion are soft.
  3. To make the tzatziki, mix the yoghurt, cucumber and mint together. Spread over both sides of the burger bun, then add the burger in with the halloumi on top.
