Sausage & Puff Pastry Chia Twirls

Makes 5 twirls | Serves 2–3

These sausage and puff pastry chia twirls are golden, crispy on the outside, juicy in the middle, and perfect for lunchboxes, picky eaters, or easy party snacks. They’re great hot from the oven but just as good cooled down for on-the-go nibbles.

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C fan and line a baking tray with baking paper.

  2. Cut the puff pastry into 5 strips about 1.5 cm wide.

  3. Brush each strip lightly with beaten egg.

  4. Wrap each pastry strip around a sausage in a spiral pattern, leaving small gaps for the pastry to puff.

  5. Place on the lined baking tray. Brush the tops with more beaten egg and sprinkle with chia seeds.

  6. Bake for 15–20 minutes until the pastry is golden, puffed, and the sausages are cooked through.

  7. Cool slightly before serving.
