Mexican-style Steak & Butter Burger

Prep time: 15 mins – Cook time: 20 mins – Serves: 2 

This Mexican burger is exactly what it says on the tin. Layer up home-made guac and salsa for a taste sensation- mucho bueno!

 

Ingredients:

2 Steak and Butter burgers

2 burger buns

Chilli cheese, enough for 2 burgers, sliced

Salsa

Crème fraiche

Salad, optional

Jalapenos, optional

For the guacamole:

1 avocado, mashed

½ tub of cream cheese

Tabasco

Salt

Lemon juice  

Method:

  1. Heat a little oil in a frying pan and sear the burgers until they are browned on both sides. Place the burgers on a lined baking tray and put in the oven for 10 mins at 180°C. 
  2. Slice the chilli cheese and place it on the burger, then put them back in the oven for 5 – 7 mins until the cheese has melted.
  3. To make the guac, mash the avo up with a fork, add in the cream cheese, tabasco, salt and lemon juice.
  4. Toast the bun if you like, then add salad in. Add the burger on top, then the guac, crème fraiche and salsa. Add some jalapenos and voila!
