Ingredients

  • 8 HECK! 97% Chipolatas

  • 200g spaghetti or linguine

  • 16 edible candy eyes

For the Tomato Sauce

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 can (400g) chopped tomatoes

  • 1 tbsp tomato purée

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • ½ tsp dried basil or oregano

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Method

  1. Start the sauce - Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onion and cook for 5 minutes until soft. Stir in garlic and tomato purée.

  2. Simmer - Add chopped tomatoes, sugar, herbs, salt and pepper. Let simmer 15–20 minutes until thickened. Blend if you like a smoother sauce.

  3. Cook sausages - Fry or oven-bake the chipolatas until golden and cooked through. Set aside to cool slightly.

  4. Boil pasta - Cook spaghetti until al dente, then drain and cool a few minutes so it’s easier to handle.

  5. Wrap mummies - Take each sausage and wrap with strands of spaghetti, leaving a little gap for the “face.” Stick on candy eyes with a dab of sauce.

  6. Serve - Spoon tomato sauce onto plates, then top with two mummy sausages each.
