Give ‘Em HECK this Easter

Try something different

The Easter Bank Holiday weekend gives you plenty of time to take life at your own pace.   So stock up the larder and spend some of that time creating some interesting brunch dishes.  Eat them at a leisurely pace and savour the flavours!

How about starting the day with Superior Skinless Sausage Pancakes, American Style?  A great way to fill up first thing in the morning before embarking on a busy day of egg hunting.

Another hearty brunch idea is this Sausage and Couscous Frittata.  Turn your leftovers into a marvellous meal the next morning.  We’ve used couscous in this recipe but you can also use pasta, rice or potatoes as an alternative.

Our Fair and Square sausages are the perfect fit for the square crusty breads we found for this Squarely Smashing Sandwich recipe, though thick slices cut from the loaf work just as well.  Really simple to make and quick to cook too, you can serve these up at any time.  Make a great supper if you are home late after busy days spent out and about.

Keeping the children fed and watered

If you have a house full of kids this Easter holidays it can be exasperating coming up with something new each day to keep the whole family well-fed – including the fussy eaters!

If you are planning a traditional Easter Sunday roast, add some Chicks In Blankets to your trimmings for a part of the meal that no child could resist.  We can’t guarantee it’ll encourage them to eat their vegetables, but these bite sized meat treats will go down as fast as little hands can snatch them from the plate.

Super simple to put together and sure to be a hit with the whole family is this Sausage Pesto Pasta.  We suggest you use our Zesty Chicken Sausages in this recipe to keep the flavours of the dish light and lifted, but this can also be adapted to include the sausage flavours you prefer.

Get the children involved by making some sausage rolls with them.  With a pack of our Superior Skinless Sausages and a block of puff pastry you can do wonders in the kitchen.  This recipe suggests adding sage for flavour and decorating with seeds, but if your little ones haven’t cultured that part of their palette yet, then keep it simple.  They will still be delicious!

Sticking with the healthy option

For those of us watching our waistlines, we have some great ideas for meals that are low in calories but still stay big on taste.

Use our Chicken Italia Chipolatas to make this Lemon, Fennel and New Potato Sausage Bake. What’s more, this is a gluten-free recipe too if you are following a GF diet.

Looking for a delicious and light lunch that’s both gluten-free and low in carbs?  This Greek Sausages recipe is also packed with plenty of vegetables with three of your 5-a-day in just one dish.

Try this Cajun Sweet Potato and Meatball Salad, a dish packed with nutrients and providing 4 of your 5-a-day in one dish.  It’s also satisfying enough to be served as a main meal and with the combination of spicy Cajun flavours will make you look like a genius in the kitchen too!

Interesting takes on old favourites

We’ve plenty of twists on traditional sausages and burgers with flavours that will transform the most humble of dishes.
