One Man And His Sausage Dog

One Man And His Sausage Dog

British Sausage Week kicks off today (31 Oct to 6 Nov) and HECK's family dachshund Coco is getting in on the action!

Coco is a four-legged, adventure-loving pup and never misses out when there is something going on.  She loves to jump into one of the family’s fleet of sidecars they use to hit the road and get their sausages into the hands of fans up and down the country.

Jamie Keeble, 26-year-old company co-founder says, “We’ve got lorries, vans and various other vehicles that we use to get out on the road travelling to shows and exhibitions and in the run up to Sausage Week, Bonfire Night and Christmas, it’s busier than ever.  We’ve just bought a fleet of motorbike and sidecars which are great fun and Coco agrees. Most dogs would start wagging their tails for walkies when they see their lead but Coco goes mad when I put on my crash helmet and goggles and she jumps straight into the sidecar when I get the engine started."

HECK is the family owned and run sausage firm racing towards success. In just four years they’ve gone from standing start to £12m turnover, thanks to their gluten-free recipes and healthier recipes which are tapping into the changing needs of British consumers.  Now owning 40% market share, according to recent Kantar data, the family will open the doors to their brand new factory and visitor centre next year. Dubbed ‘Sausage World’ it will use state of the art machinery to make over 1,000 sausages a minute and will be capable of making sausages in any shape and size to add their growing range which now includes pork, lower fat chicken, veggie and vegan.
