We gave catering students from RAF Leeming one HECK of a cooking class. We laid down an Apprentice-style challenge to put them through their paces!
Catering Students from RAF Leeming had a HECK! of a cooking class last week, when they had an exclusive tour of Yorkshire’s favourite sausage and burger factory in Bedale.
Members of the RAF Leeming Catering Flight came down to learn how HECK! makes its tasty bangers and burgers, as well has having a burger cooking challenge in the kitchen, “The Apprentice” style!
After a tour of HECK!’s state of the art kitchen, the visitors were split into teams to make a new burger recipe from scratch. They blended tasty ingredients and made their own burgers and then had a taste test challenge with the HECK! team.
After a tough day in the kitchens, the students told us that it had been an inspirational day for them and that, being big fans of HECK!, seeing the operation for real was really interesting.
Debbie from HECK! said of the group, “Making burgers from scratch was quite a challenge for the group, but we were very impressed by their creativity and tasty creations. They are living and breathing catering, so we knew we had to impress the team!”
Take a look at some of their results!
