Filled with juicy HECK! 97% Pork Sausages, baked beans and plenty of melted cheddar, they're easy to make, easy to share and guaranteed to be the first thing gone from the picnic blanket.
What you'll need
-
1 pack HECK! 97% Pork Sausages
-
1 sheet ready-rolled puff pastry
-
200g baked beans
-
100g mature cheddar, grated
-
1 tsp wholegrain mustard (optional)
-
1 egg, beaten
Method
-
Preheat your oven to 200°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
-
Slice the sausages into bite-sized pieces and cook in a frying pan over a medium heat until golden and cooked through.
-
Add the cooked sausage pieces to a bowl with the baked beans, grated cheddar and wholegrain mustard, if using. Mix well.
-
Unroll the puff pastry and cut into 4 equal rectangles.
-
Spoon the filling onto one half of each rectangle, leaving a small border around the edge.
-
Brush the edges with beaten egg, fold the pastry over the filling and press down with a fork to seal.
-
Transfer to the baking tray, brush the tops with the remaining egg and cut a small slit in each one.
-
Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden, crisp and beautifully puffed.
-
Leave to cool slightly before serving.
