2 HECK! Chicken Italia burgers

2 St Pierre Caramelised Brioche buns

100g golden breadcrumbs

1 egg, beaten

50g plain flour

Vegetable oil, for deep frying

4 smoked bacon rashers
-
A handful of rocket
-
200g prepared mac ’n’ cheese

Salt and black pepper
Method

Start by coating the HECK! Chicken Italia burgers. Lightly dust each burger in flour, dip into the beaten egg, then coat evenly in the golden breadcrumbs, pressing gently so the coating sticks well.

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 180°C. Carefully lower the crumbed burgers into the hot oil and fry for 6–8 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden, crisp and cooked through. Remove and drain on kitchen paper.

While the burgers are frying, cook the smoked bacon rashers in a pan until crisp and golden.

Heat the mac ’n’ cheese according to packet or recipe instructions until hot and creamy.

Lightly toast the St Pierre Caramelised Brioche buns until warm and golden.

To build the burger, add a handful of rocket to the bottom bun, followed by the crispy fried HECK! Chicken Italia burger. Top with the smoked bacon rashers and a generous spoonful of warm mac ’n’ cheese, then finish with the top bun.

Serve immediately for the ultimate New Jersey-style comfort burger.
