EIGHT COMPANIES IN YORKSHIRE WIN PLACES ON LEAGUE TABLE OF BRITAIN’S FASTEST-GROWING PRIVATE FIRMS
Published this weekend, the 19th annual Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 league table ranks Britain's private companies with the fastest-growing sales over three years.
The eight companies headquartered in Yorkshire (compared to 11 last year) include five new entrants to the league table and they have all made a strong contribution to the local economy. Together they employ more than 1,400 staff and have achieved combined sales of £360m.
Top-ranked company in the region is North Yorkshire-based Heck! Food, which is a new entrant at No 4. It was founded by husband-and-wife team, Andrew and Debbie Keeble, who run the gourmet sausage producer alongside three of their children. It is among around a fifth of league table companies that are thriving under family leadership. The company’s products are stocked in retailers such as Tesco, Asda and Morrisons, and sales have grown 159% a year to £5.7m this year.
