As a self-confessed carnivore, the Gluten Free Blogger took a chance on the new HECK veggie range in honour of National Vegetarian Week.
Sarah is the 27 year old coeliac behind the Gluten Free Blogger site and so is keen to explore the world of gluten-free, taking us on a voyage of discovery with her.
Being a HECK lover already, National Vegetarian Week seemed the perfect opportunity to try some HECK vegetarian food. After trying our veggie balls, burgers and sausages, Sarah has changed her outlook on veggie as a food option, as well as that of her even more sceptically carnivorous partner's view!
She served up the Nuts About Cheese Sausages with sautéed mange tout for a quick and easy lunch about which she comments, “I had no idea to what expect but I was so pleasantly surprised and think I could easily substitute a meat meal for these.”
She teamed the Goat’s Cheese Burgers with sweet potato fries and this meal was swiftly despatched by the couple.
“The goat’s cheese was delicious with a sweetness from the caramelised onions and I enjoyed these a lot… I would definitely buy these instead of meat for an occasional change.”
For the Super Greens Balls she devised an oriental meal to accompany them which brought out the flavours of ginger in the veggie balls.
“I decided to make a soy, honey and chilli-coated courgette noodles with cashews… Needless to say, it was a pretty awesome combination.”
“I was really impressed with these Heck products and I would definitely buy the burgers and sausages again. They made a nice change and have altered my outlook on vegetarian food – though their chicken sausages are still amaaazing!”
