This easy recipe means veggies and vegans don’t have to miss out when you’re cooking up a weekend Heck Dog!  The chilli jam cooked up with onions really brings out the Thai flavours of our Sweet Fusion Saus, so give them a whirl.  And if you’re catering for a gluten free diet, just use a GF bun or replace the bun with some little gem lettuce leaves. Delicious!

Veggie Sweet Fusion Dog with Chilli Jam & Fried Onions

Serves two (if you’re feeling hungry) or four as a light snack


4 HECK Sweet Fusion sausages

2 white onions

2 to 3 tablespoons chilli jam

15ml vegetable oil

4 brioche hotdog buns

Ketchup & fries to serve



  1. Pre-heat the grill to medium.
  2. Gently heat the oil in a saucepan.
  3. Finely slice the onions and add to the pan. Cook on a low/medium heat for 10-15 minutes until nicely golden but not brown (two minutes before the onions are ready, add the chilli jam and mix thoroughly).
  4. Whilst cooking the onions, place the sausages under a medium grill and cook for 10-12 minutes, turning frequently.
  5. Build your hotdogs and place a big spoonful of the chilli jam onions on top of each sausage.
  6. Serve with a nice dollop of ketchup and your favourite fries.
