VEGETARIAN SAUSAGE SKILLET PIZZA BY VEGGIE DESSERTS

We no longer sell Nuts About Cheese sausages, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy this recipe. Why not try our Sweet Fusion Veggie Balls? They may not be sausages but they are equally as tasty! You can either mix the Sweet Fusion Veggie Balls together and create your own sausages. Or just cook them as balls and enjoy them in tacos with tomato and mango jalapeno salsa. Delicious!

Vegetarian Sausage Skillet Pizza by Veggie Desserts

Serves 2-4 people.

Ingredients

For the pizza dough:
  • 180 ml (3/4 cup) warm water
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 225g (2 cups) plain flour (all-purpose)
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Toppings:
  • HECK Nuts About Cheese sausages
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 100g (1 cup) sliced mushrooms
  • ½ an onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon thyme leaves
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1-2 teaspoons tomato paste
  • 1 ball mozzarella cheese
To cook:
  • 2 teaspoons oil
To serve:
  • Rocket (arugula)
  • Fresh basil

In this recipe our new Nuts About Cheese Sausages are used as a delicious topping for a skillet pizza that is surprisingly easy to make – including making the dough from scratch.  The rich flavours of our Nuts About Cheese sausages are balanced with sliced mushrooms, thyme and garlic with a liberal topping of spicy wild rocket.
