Savoury waffles! Served with our Vegan Breakfast Sausage, a poached egg and some fresh spinach. Enjoy with a cup of tea and a blob of your favourite sauce. Your kitchen will smell amazing!
4 HECK Vegan Breakfast sausages
140g of plain flour
¼ tsp of baking powder
100ml of semi-skimmed milk
A pinch of mustard powder
A pinch of paprika
Put a drop of oil in a frying pan and place on a medium to high heat. Add your sausages to the pan. Cook off for 10-15 minutes, remembering to turn occasionally so they are golden.
Get your waffle heater on so it’s nice and hot!
In a large bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, paprika, mustard powder and seasoning. Using a whisk beat the mixture & slowly add the milk. Continue until the batter thickens and is smooth in texture.
Pour the batter into the waffle maker and close the lid. Cook for 5 minutes. Remove the waffle from the machine and repeat.
To keep the waffles warm, place in an oven.
In a small ramakin, crack your egg.
Boil some hot water in a pan and add a drop of white wine vinegar. Swirl the water with a spoon in circular motions and gently drop your egg into the whirl pool.
Poach for 6 minutes then remove from the heat.
Plate up the waffles, add some spinach, then lay your egg on top. Remove the sausages from the pan and add to the plate. Sprinkle with chili flakes and serve with your favourite sauce. Enjoy!
