Let's talk BALANCE!

So, let’s get things straight. We all want to feel good, look good, and we generally want it to be sustainable. It’s so easy to get wound up after Christmas or a holiday, feel very vulnerable and maybe a bit wobbly in all the wrong places. This really does happen to the best of us. But come on, snap out of it. We’ve got a better way to look at it! We think it’s very much down to balance.

There is always going to be Christmas, always a birthday, always a holiday that is going to come around and stop us in our tracks.

“Have some cake!”

“Gin & Tonic?”

“Would you like a portion of chips with that?”

Healthy habits are admittedly hard to adapt to. Usually this requires changing our lifestyle and mind-set, but it is always possible! We’ve spoken about meal prep before; changes like this in day-to-day life will make things easier, and without being that much of a dramatic lifestyle change, healthier!

Regular exercise. Our society is getting swallowed up into thinking that we all must exercise for a long period of time every day in order to look something a little bit like this…

Well no, we also don’t think this is the way to go. LITTLE AND OFTEN. It’s true that 20 minutes of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) will burn more fat than a long run. 20 minutes… that’s it! What’s even better, is that this doesn’t have to be every day. Try 3 or 4 times a week. Ease your way into it.

Eat well. I know this is easier said than done, but it really is possible without making your life a complete misery. Swap those curly fries for some sweet potato and grab a wholegrain loaf over a thick cut white loaf! Easy steps, and still so yummy!

Having said all that, we all know that when Friday arrives and you’re tempted by the takeaway, it’s hard to say no! I get that, we all do. Just remember to jump back to the good stuff the next day. It’s so important to treat yourself, but you must keep your mind happy as well as your body.
