2 burger buns
2 HECK Ultimate Vegan Burgers
A little oil for frying
50g edamame beans, drained
Juice of 1⁄2 lime
3 tbsp white beans (cannellini, chickpea or butter beans) 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
2 small carrots, finely sliced (julienne)
A few lettuce leaves
Spring onions to serve
For the teriyaki sauce
2 tbsp tamari soy sauce
1⁄4 tsp chilli flakes
1 tbsp sesame seeds
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp sesame oil
1⁄2 tsp ginger powder or 1cm fresh ginger, finely grated 1⁄2 tsp garlic powder or 1 clove garlic, grated
1⁄2 tsp cornflour
- Fry the HECK Burgers according to packaging instructions, then remove from the pan and toast your burger buns in the remaining oil until golden.
- Whip up your teriyaki sauce in a small bowl, then return your burgers to the hot pan & coat in the teriyaki sauce, flip the burger consistently for 1-2 minutes until the teriyaki sauce thickens and the majority sticks to the burger, then remove from the heat.
- Transfer the edamame beans to a food processor alongside the juice of 1/2 lime, white beans and sesame oil and blend on high speed until smooth.
- Assemble your teriyaki burgers! Place a few lettuce leaves onto your toasted bottom buns, top with the mashed edamame beans, add the sticky burger patties, the carrot sticks, drizzle with the rest of the teriyaki sauce, sprinkle with fresh spring onions and finish with the top bun.
