Time to get messy! Follow this 5-step meatball recipe that’s easy enough for your kids to get involved with and makes plenty to freeze for a quick tea another day
Ingredients:
- 2 Packs Simply Chicken Mince
- 1 Onion – finely chopped
- Fresh Parsley – finely chopped
- 85g Grated Parmesan
- 100g Fresh Breadcrumbs
- 2 Eggs, beaten with a fork
- Spaghetti (100g per portion)
- 4 Garlic Cloves
- 1 x 400g Cans Chopped Tomatoes
- 3 Tbsp Caster Sugar
- A few Basil Leaves
Method
- Preheat the oven to 220 degrees, whilst this is warming up make the meatballs. Time to get messy! In a bowl add the mince, onion, parsley, parmesan, breadcrumbs & eggs. Mix together really well
- Use the ball of your hands to form the mince mix into 50 meatballs & set aside any meatballs for freezing. Allow for 5 balls per portion and then spread them out in a large roasting tin, drizzle with a little oil then roast for 20-30 minutes until browned
- Meanwhile, make the pasta sauce. Crush the garlic cloves and sizzle them in a large saucepan in a little olive oil for 1 minute. Stir in the chopped tomatoes, caster sugar and parsley then simmer for 15 minutes to thicken and add the basil leaves
- Cook the spaghetti in a pan of boiling, salted water for around 10 minutes
- Spoon the sauce and meatballs over the spaghetti
