Ultimate Vegan Burger With Homemade Slaw

Make this fantastic recipe using our Ultimate Vegan Burger, add whatever you fancy, pair the burger with some homemade sweet potato fries and a salad.

Ingredients
  • 1 pack Heck! Ultimate Vegan Burgers
  • 2 Vegan Bread Rolls 
  • Handful of lettuce leaves
  • ½ a beef tomato
  • 2 sweet potatoes
  • 1 grated apple, any kind
  • 1 grated raw beetroot
  • 100g vegan yogurt
  • 1 tbsp of honey

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C
  2. Drizzle some oil on a baking tray and put in the oven to warm
  3. Put each sweet potato in the microwave for 5 minutes. This will make the baking time much quicker as the potatoes will soften
  4. Chop the potatoes into chunks or chips, keeping the skin on for an extra crispy texture
  5. Remove baking tray from the oven and evenly arrange the sweet potato. Add the honey and give them a stir with a spatula or some tongs
  6. Put them in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes
  7. To cook our Ultimate Vegan burgers, we recommend frying off in a pan for about 10-12 minutes with a splash of oil, turning occasionally
  8. Remember to give your sweet potatoes a shake/stir so they don’t burn!
  9. In a mixing bowl, grate or thinly slice the beetroot & apple. Stir in the yoghurt. We used coconut yoghurt but there are lots of other varieties that would work nicely!
  10. We suggest toasting your burger bun. If you pop it under the grill for about 2-5 minutes, it should turn a lovely golden colour
  11. Slice red onion & tomato into disks
  12. Stack all ingredients between the burger bun. You may want to use a skewer to keep the ingredients secure
  13. Remove your crispy sweet potatoes from the oven
  14. Arrange the burger on a plate or board with the chunky sweet potato wedges and beetroot slaw. Garnish with fresh mint. Serve immediately
